Ashley was born 2 months prior to her due date when she was born, and weighed just 2 lbs 8 oz. The ICU was her home for one month. She was told by her parents at Christmas that this Day would be her day for heart surgery. Christmas Day brought answers to the prayers of her parents when doctors advised her parents she had a closed-up heart. Ashley did not require any surgery. She was released to go home with a weight of 4 1/2 pounds after being in hospital for 2 months. Since then, she has not had a single illness! She is of English, German and Irish ancestry. Her family's origins are from Ireland. Her acting debut was with a 2002 Salon Surprise Barbie Doll commercial. Ashley's career was furthered when The Ford Modeling Agency approached her at age 8. In print, she is consistent and stays in the Agency. She wanted to be an actor from the age of 10. Ashley began her career with 35 commercials before moving on to roles in the theatre. Ashley has a passion for acting. Ashley was able to focus all her energy to acting. It left little time for modelling as well as dancing. Ashley is well known for her role as Hannah Marin in ABC Family's Pretty Little Liars. Ashley was also a guest on Romeo Miller (aka Lil Romeo) and in Solange's music videos for the track "True Love". Britney took a photo with Ashley for Vogue Magazine. She appears on the soundtrack video "That Girl" by NLT.
